Marlowe

Marlowe is one of those special occasion restaurants. Located about a block away from my workplace in SOMA, this top-ten best new restaurant of 2010 serves some delicious (albeit pricey) food.

The last time I went, I tried their burger – and it didn’t disappoint. Today, I wanted to switch things up, so I decided to order their crispy fried chicken sandwich, along with their famous berry mint iced tea.

The sandwich was amazing. One of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had. I’d rank it up there with Bakesale Betty and Chick-fil-A. Instead of a patty, the sandwich had an actual (large) piece of fried chicken, with Caesar aioli, bacon, field greens, and two buns smothered with butter.

Each bite was memorable, and it wasn’t long before I had an empty plate in front of me, a full stomach, and some droopy eyes. Sometimes, I wish we had post-lunch nap time at our workplace.
