Although San Francisco has some amazingly-good eateries, the drawback is the price these restaurants typically charge. It’s tough finding good food at (fairly) reasonable prices for the student budget.
Miss SaiGon is a Vietnamese restaurant that fits this bill. Even more surprisingly, the restaurant itself is much nicer than the prices and location suggest. Located in a slightly-sketchier part of 6th Street near the Financial District, the place gives off a fancy-restaurant vibe with its clean and modern interior design.
But what about the food? I ordered their grilled pork with rice (which also came with shredded pork, egg cake, salad, and soup). It was a nicely-sized portion, the pork was flavorful, and the rice was cooked right.
Nothing out of this world, but good food at a nice sit-down restaurant for around ~$7-8 per person. Not a bad deal. Oh, and I also recommend the Thai iced tea – one of the largest glasses of the beverage I’ve come across.
