Chocolate. Universally loved, and with good reason. The perfect combination of sweet and milky, right for any occasion and time. And if you really needed justification, you could reason that chocolate is good for your heart, too.
Chocolatier Blue is a Berkeley specialty chocolate store, with some very unique (and colorful) chocolates that make great gifts. I was the lucky recipient of a gift box of ten chocolates for my birthday, and I really enjoyed those delectable delights in the midst of studying for finals.
Each chocolate was flavorful, rich, and even colorful, with names such as candy cane, pear, and pumpkin. Plus, there were the more classic pieces such as espresso, caramel, and almond. Most were dark chocolate, and I have to say, these chocolates were not only good to eat, but they were also beautifully-made works of art.
Favorites included espresso (very rich and strong), candy cane (delicious combination of white and dark chocolate), and egg nog (a surprise, as I don’t really like egg nog). I enjoyed each piece, and I’d recommend getting a box for a friend or even for yourself (you do deserve it, after all) for any occasion.
