Apart from a couple visits to some Thai restaurants during high school, I didn’t really eat Thai food until college. Wish I’d started enjoying the food earlier. I love the tangy flavors of a lot of Thai dishes, and I’m a sucker for Thai iced tea.
Coconut Bay is a personal favorite back at SoCal, so it’s fitting that my family and I had our first lunch of spring break at the restaurant.
It’s definitely a nicer sit-down restaurant compared to a lot of the Berkeley eateries, but still homey and not overpriced.
I recommend the pineapple fried rice, because it’s not only delicious but the portion is large. Still, you really can’t go wrong with any of the huge variety of dishes they offer, from pad thai to red curry.
And make sure to get the Thai iced tea. It’s tasty and the refills are free!
