Tired of all the pizza offerings around campus? Been to Cheeseboard, Zachary’s, and La Val’s more times than you can count? Allow me to introduce an elegant solution: try Gioia Pizzeria!
Gioia Pizzeria is located on the north side of campus and is well-known for their delicious New York-style thin crust pizza. It’s garnered quite some impressive reviews on Yelp, and frankly, I’m surprised I didn’t hear about the place until yesterday.
The slices are huge. Gioia pizza makes Costco pizza seem small. And what’s nice is that since it’s thin crust, the slices don’t make you feel super full or bloated. They’re famous for their “funghi” mushroom pizza, and it didn’t disappoint. Pure, fresh (and oily) goodness. Mushroom pizza never tasted this amazing.
Definitely give this place a go, you’ll probably add it to your list of top pizzerias near the Berkeley campus.
