The name of this well-known restaurant in Berkeley/Oakland is as Asian as it can get. And that’s a good thing because you’ll find yourself sampling some of the best Korean snack/fusion appetizers and entrees at OB Chicken.
OB Chicken is a stand-alone restaurant & bar that hosts many of the Korean students that go to Berkeley (along with the non-Koreans who’ve discovered a decent place to eat and grab drinks). The place is dimly lit, the waiters are severely understaffed, and the music is always techno at full blast.
Still, the food is quite amazing, provided you order the right stuff. I’d wholeheartedly recommend their sweet & spicy fried chicken, corn cheese, Korean sausages, and dukkbokki (spicy rice and fish cakes with ramen). OB Chicken is known for their fried chicken, and the sweet & spicy variant is a flavorful, tangy, and overall delicious take.
