Bruxie

Chicken and waffle sandwiches in a fast casual restaurant setting? When my friend invited me to try this place out, I was immediately sold. First off, I’d never had chicken and waffles, let alone chicken and waffle sandwiches. Plus, there seemed to be a lot of other great selections, so I had to give it a try.

The first Bruxie opened about a year-and-a-half ago, and already it has four locations in the SoCal area. I went to the new one in downtown Brea and ordered their classic Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Waffle sandwich. Other waffle sandwich varieties included Green Eggs & Ham, Hot Pastrami, and Smoked Salmon, to name a few.

The sandwich was pretty good. I especially liked the taste of hot maple syrup mixed with piping hot buttermilk fried chicken. The waffle fries were nice and crispy, and the old-fashioned root beer gives IBC a run for its money. A quick lunch or dinner in a clean, stylish, and affordable environment – I wouldn’t be surprised if Bruxie expanded to NorCal and beyond soon.
