It’s always nice to get a little taste of home when you’ve been away from SoCal Asian food for a while. Like I’ve said before, Berkeley has many amazing eateries, but the selection of Asian food (particularly Chinese and Taiwanese food) is severely lacking.
But no matter! The solution is to drive merely a few cities south. My roommates and I stopped by the Dublin/San Ramon area today and had the opportunity to try out Liang’s Kitchen, which is quite a popular restaurant chain in both NorCal and SoCal.
The restaurant has a giant logo of the owner’s face, which it both amusing and slightly creepy. Still, the food was great, and I got to order their Beef Onion Pancake and Beef Noodle Soup (with Lapian handmade noodles). The pancake was delicious, with more beef than pickled vegetables, which I prefer. The noodle soup came with tender beef, vegetables, well-cooked noodles, and flavorful (and spicy) soup.
A hearty dinner combination at a fair price and good service overall. Glad I got my Taiwanese food fix!
