Specialty’s holds a special place in my heart. The story goes back one year when I interned in San Francisco last summer. One of the fellow interns invited me on a mid-afternoon mini-excursion with a group of co-workers to a quaint little cafe across the street, right at the underground entrance of the Montgomery BART stop. Everyone was raving about the cookies, and after seeing the baked goods, it didn’t take much convincing for me to give in and try one.
Specialty’s cookies are something else. Freshly baked every day, these cookies look like someone took two warm cookies and mashed them together – they weren’t Mrs. Fields-sized cookies, but they definitely topped the charts. I’ve been a loyal milk chocolate chip cookie fan from day one and have been ordering them every time I go back. How do these cookies taste? Since they’re so fresh, they remind me of the cookies from pizookies at BJ’s Restaurants – soft, chocolately, and sometimes still warm!
An amazing break spot with amazing cookies that are unmatched in taste and freshness. An added bonus? They serve Peet’s Coffee and offer a ton of food and baked goods.
