Little Star Pizza

Another Big Eat restaurant checked off. Grace and I tried out Little Star Pizza, a Chicago-style deep dish pizza place. Now, I’ve only had deep dish pizza on one other occasion, about two years ago at Zachary’s in Berkeley. Even though the pizza was delicious, I’m still a thin-crust guy at heart, and nothing tops …

The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen

My manager has been talking about The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen since I started work a couple months ago. Yesterday, we finally stopped by the place for lunch. I was curious how grilled cheese could be so fervently recommended, not only by him, but also by hundreds of Yelp reviewers.

Cupkates

Feels like I’ve been writing about sandwiches and burgers the past few days. Let’s switch things up to dessert. I’m thinking cupcakes. Cupkates is a well-known food truck in San Francisco that serves fancy cupcakes. They recently started stopping by the Berkeley area, so the treats are definitely attainable if you’re in the East Bay.

Marlowe

Marlowe is one of those special occasion restaurants. Located about a block away from my workplace in SOMA, this top-ten best new restaurant of 2010 serves some delicious (albeit pricey) food.

Hiyaaa!

Stopped by the Mission & 1st Truck Stop in SF for lunch today. A group of us Berkeleyans – Austin, Clay, Grace, Eric, and Emily – met up (from our respective workplaces around the area) at the food alley where the trucks were located.

Ike’s Place

Ike’s Place is one of the most popular, most consistently good food places in San Francisco, the Bay Area even. With four-and-a-half stars on Yelp over 3,496 reviews, the place just had to serve good sandwiches.

Katana-Ya

Welcome to Food Spotlight! As you can tell, I’ve spun off my popular Food Spotlight posts into a blog of their own. Hopefully, I’ll be introducing and reviewing a wide variety of food in the near future.
